16  Cletrac Tractor Discussion / HG, OC-3, OC-4 & General / clutch stuck on: March 07, 2005, 08:02:15 AM
Please don't run your HG up against a tree, it can break a lot of other things like the final drive gears, transmission gears, and last but not least it is very dangerous. Also if it does come loose, how are you going to know it didn't rip the facing off the clutch disc and now it will ruin your flywheel and pressure plate.

Take the clutch apart to free it and in the future block the clutch pedal in with a piece of wood or something else, and this should never happen again.

Take care.

17  Cletrac Tractor Discussion / HG, OC-3, OC-4 & General / HG paint on: March 03, 2005, 09:37:33 AM
The serial number determines the color for the most part.

The earlier HG was Orange when they were owned by Cleveland Tractor.(Cletrac)

The later ones where Green when Oliver Corp. bought Cletrac.

The only ones of that style that should be painted yellow are the OC-3's.

Maybe someone has the exact year when they changed from orange to green.
If you need paint codes I can post them later as I don't have them with me at the moment.

18  Cletrac Tractor Discussion / HG, OC-3, OC-4 & General / hg and plow on: February 18, 2005, 05:44:33 AM
Nick,
I plowed with my HG quite a bit useing an Oliver 2-14 Plowmaster. I had lots of fun and the HG seemed to handle it very well. I also had some problems with adjustment, but I usually got it fixed by playing around with it.

I also used a JD KBA 8 ft. disc with no problem, with the exception when the ground was very soft it got hard to turn at the end of the field.

20  Cletrac Tractor Discussion / Subjects Related To All Models / Cornhead Grease on: February 15, 2005, 07:23:38 AM
My question on cornhead grease is: What happens to this stuff when it is 5 degrees outside? Does it get real solid like regular grease?
Also is this an EP (extreme pressure) lubricant that will damage bronze bushings?
I know GL-1 grade Lubricants are the best for bronze bushings, to be safe use only a GL-1 grade gear OIL, straight 90 or 140wt non detergent.
Someone was going to check with the manufacturer about the viscosity of cornhead grease, but I don't remember who it was as some of this topic was lost to the hackers on the previous forum.
I was wondering what you found out.

Thank you, Blake for all the time and effort you put into this.
I know it can cause a headache real soon when things stop working, thats the way it works for me.

22  Cletrac Tractor Discussion / All Models Except HG, OC-3, OC-4 & General / Power turn OC-12 on: February 14, 2005, 07:16:38 AM
Robert ,
They are hard to find in good condition, we have a limited stock. Just keep the moisture out and a good clean 90wt gl-1 gear oil in there. I think with regular maintainance It will last a long time.

The original roller shafts button head zerk thread size is 1/2" fine thread, the zerk on the front wheel and track frame hangers are 1/4" pipe thread. if you have any of our new roller shafts, the thread size on those are 1/4" pipe thread.

jjbath,

Yes it looks like a BGS, As far as the weight, Robert is right, just the crawler weighs  approx 8600 lbs. and the Heil dozer assembly must be 2000 lbs or more.

27  Cletrac Tractor Discussion / HG, OC-3, OC-4 & General / Grill on: January 06, 2005, 07:23:54 AM
The Oc-4 has a grill of its own, and the OC-6 grill will not fit at all. I have good used front grills in stock for OC-4.
Do you have a serial number?
Feel free to call me for prices.
