News: 10/5/12 - All new members are REQUIRED to fill out the signature section of your profile. Otherwise, you may be deleted from the forum. This is to help me determine if you are a member or if you are a spammer. Thank you.

9/22/12 - I ask that you please add a signature line to your profiles on the Cletrac Forum to help me to determine who is spam and who is not. You don't need to drop everything and do this immediately, but please do it when you get a minute and you are visiting the forum. Just go to and put something in the signature area. If you no longer want to be a member on the Cletrac Forum, please remove your membership.

8/10/11 - Added a new board: Trucking and Hauling

5/30/11 - Just added several new pictures to the Photo Gallery, including several Alfta Track OC-4 working in snow logging, several from the Chicago Road Show, and some from a logging show (not all Oliver/Cletrac). All these pictures are from around 1963 and were scanned from old slides given to me by my late friend John W. Davis. Go to the Photo Gallery and click on "NEW" to see these pictures. Quality is marginal, but I think you will enjoy them.

2/13/11 - Just added a new board "New members introduce yourselves here".

Folks, I just added a new photo gallery where you can upload your own pictures with descriptions, etc. Right now this is in the beta testing stage to see how it works out. Give it a try, but please keep a backup copy of your pictures just in case we decide to use something else. I would prefer you use your real name on the photo gallery, but if you really don't want to, please use the same username as on the forum. Please put your images into the proper categories and take care when your write out your descriptions and image names so people can search for them. I am learning this as we go. At least at the beginning, I have it set up where the administrator has to approve members. I am afraid we may get porn spam in here if we leave it open. To get to the photo gallery, use this link:

Folks, when you join the forum, or when you get the chance to update your Profile, please be sure to put your location and interests. Filling out your signature would help as well. I've been getting some spammers joining and posting links to sites that are completely unrelated to Cletrac or Oliver, or anything to do with tractors. It would make it easier for me, as well as all the other members, if you guys would put your location and interest in your profile. See

Well, I figured after a year and a half that if you haven't posted them by now you weren't going to. I just wish you had printed that in the paragraph about downloading before I wasted my precious time. I too am limited to the time I have until as of late working 10 and 12 hrs. a day seven days a week. I just did it because I wanted to share with others that are interested in these great machines. As for your fees, thats part of owning a website. If you ever accepted donations from people other than buisnesses i'd contribute because I will help out where I can. On my Toyota MR2 site that i'm a member of we pay $10 a year for the ability to send messages and other quirks. This site doesn't have anywhere near that many mmbers but if you put some effort into it you could let the site pay for itself.

Hey Blake, remember those pictures I gave you over a year ago? When are you finally going to make me an album?

Yeah, that the only silver ligning I can come up with. I mean I was only asking for a reserve price of $400. I could have made a lot more srapping it with the price of metal what it is. I would rather someone get it that is either going to fix it or tear it down for parts. But like you say, i'd rather see it as yard art than to hear that its going to be melted down. Well its early, there are still five days left.

Well, I have decided to sell the HG68 that I just bought. I just bought an Allis Chalmers 5040 and I just can't have two tractors and two crawlers. Oh well. It looks like it would have been fun. I have it listed on e-bay right now. I hope whoever gets it will fix it up. I've already had one question asking if I would help load it. They said they wanted to use it as yard art. "sigh....."

No I haven't gotten it home yet. Its still sitting at the dealership. I guess i'll go ahead and bring it home. I went to the local "god almighty of alternators and starters". I took the mag to them to check out for me. They took it in the back, cleaned it up, and gave it back to me. They said they had no means to mess with it. They said there wasn't enough demand for it so they got rid of all they're equipment.

Oliver/CletracHG grilles and OC3 grilles are the same .The Cletrac HG was different {center solid strip was narrower}

In the first sentence you said they are the same and in the second you said they are different. Could you elaborate?

Has he stated what he wants for the HG grill? I need all the sheetmetal for my HG68.

Oh. I wouldn't know what the hood looked like if it were thrown at me.

As you can see, my HG is kinda missing the sheetmetal.

I wounder what the hood came off of. If it were shaped to meet the gas tank you wouldn't even notice it was different.

Its a '54 model. ... LC&md=OC-3

As for value it could range anywhere from $200 to $10,000. It all depends on the condition. It would be impossible to say without seing it. They ussually sell for around $1500 to $2500 in running condition unrestored.

I said 20 HP.

Ooops. Sorry. It must have registered wrong when I read all the post. At 20HP, would it be strong enough to pull a mower?

15  Cletrac Tractor Discussion / HG, OC-3, OC-4 & General / OC4 Magneto on: September 25, 2006, 02:08:31 PM
Will a bad magneto keep a unit from starting? When I bought the machine the guy said the magneto needed rebuilding. It started the first couple of weeks that I owned it. But now it just turns over.
