Hi,

Would anyone have a workshop or parts manual/s for the DDPCU as fitted to the FDE. I have an Australian delivered FDE which is fitted with an Australian made Britstand DDPCU. It could be that Oliver designed these winches and Britstand made them under licence.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Jeff

The FD started life in 1936 with a Hercules  DHX engine.  In 1938 the tractor was upgraded and the engine size increase to a DHXB engine.   In 1941 due to a shortage of Hercules engines the FDLC with a Cummins was made.  In 1945 it became the FDE with a Hercules DFXE engine. IT was made until 1952 and then the OC 18 came out.

I notice in various documentation that what is ostensibly referred to as an FDE, is sometimes called an FD. Does anyone know if there was a model called an FD, and if so, what was the difference between an FD and an FDE?

Thanks for all your help.
I arc welded with special rods, kept cool and preened and it seems to have worked.
Cheers

This machine has not been run for 30 years before this year... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeOo_FeMfbU&t=163s
Gear change is very stiff. Have taken the top off the gearbox and CRC'd (WD40) the fork and rods and emery papered where I could get to. Checked oil. very clean anyway and added some more SAE40 to front compartment. Still very stiff. Do you think it will come right with use?
Also clutch has a 2-3 second delay but better at an idle. Have filled cap on right hand side with grease. This too still no better with a bit of running.
Any tips without splitting it?
Cheers Roy Johnson

hi hsaele12,

It is warming up, please get busy, you are almost there. I would like to see it run too. I always wanted to try farming steep sidehill with a BGH. I think it might be better than a Cat.

I doubt very much if sprockets on these late modern tractors would be cast iron. Perhaps cast steel.

The water pump and mag just turn together. Therefore, you would just time the mag to the engine as usual.

Could somebody please tell me how to time the mag. to the water pump?  Thanks
