8/10/11 - Added a new board: Trucking and Hauling

5/30/11 - Just added several new pictures to the Photo Gallery, including several Alfta Track OC-4 working in snow logging, several from the Chicago Road Show, and some from a logging show (not all Oliver/Cletrac). All these pictures are from around 1963 and were scanned from old slides given to me by my late friend John W. Davis. Go to the Photo Gallery and click on "NEW" to see these pictures. Quality is marginal, but I think you will enjoy them.

2/13/11 - Just added a new board "New members introduce yourselves here".

Folks, I just added a new photo gallery where you can upload your own pictures with descriptions, etc. Right now this is in the beta testing stage to see how it works out. Give it a try, but please keep a backup copy of your pictures just in case we decide to use something else. I would prefer you use your real name on the photo gallery, but if you really don't want to, please use the same username as on the forum. Please put your images into the proper categories and take care when your write out your descriptions and image names so people can search for them. I am learning this as we go. At least at the beginning, I have it set up where the administrator has to approve members. I am afraid we may get porn spam in here if we leave it open. Folks, when you join the forum, or when you get the chance to update your Profile, please be sure to put your location and interests. Filling out your signature would help as well. I've been getting some spammers joining and posting links to sites that are completely unrelated to Cletrac or Oliver, or anything to do with tractors. Looking for info on a HT35. Blade, tracs and undercarriage show almost no wear. Previous owner said machine had less than 100 hours. Serial # is 9301 and identification number is PFO189. I haven't tried to do anything with it for a few years. Continental motor was running but had an issue with transmission /main clutch. Don't know if I'm ever going to get around to finishing it as I also have a 1940 Ford 9N I need to work on. If someone is interested I can get some pics and info Chassis and 6 way blade are in good shape little damage to seat frame. Call me if your interested.

That sounds like the Heil blade model number. The basic tractor is probably an AG6. Look under the hood, on the firewall and there should be a tag for the tractor there.

AG6 is more or less newer BD right?
google showed that the HT35 was the model for the blade,as Bob said,so the tractor is something like that.
I'm interested,but it's a fair drive,and my pockets are shallow.

AG6s and BDs were made during the same time period. But the BD was produced a couple years earlier than the AG6 also. The AG was replaced by the AG6 in '44

The B is just a bigger tractor overall than the A.

B has four forward speeds and two reverse - A has three forward, one reverse
B has larger track frames and different tracks
B engines are close to 300 cubic inches, A engines are 226 cubic inches

others will come up with more differences, but the B is just one-up in size to the A.

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. A little heavier too obviously, but other than that, Blake pretty well nailed it!

They are close enough the clutches and brake bands will interchange...

Some of the model numbers do get a little complicated. A is the model, G stands for gasoline engine. In the case of the AG6, the 6 means it has a six cylinder Continental engine in it as opposed to the AG, which has a four cylinder Hercules engine. Both of 226 cubic inch displacement. Cletrac switched to the Continental engine as they were unable to purchase more OOC Hercules engines because of the War. The AD (diesel) continued to use a DOOC four cylinder Hercules engine.
