Photo Album - Chris Van der Vyver's Pictures

Hi Blake,

This is the newest addition to my HG OC3 collection. An 1955 OC3 with Universal Trencher Model 3A attachment. The trencher and blade was made by Heller Engineering and, as you can see, the OC3 frame was modified quite a bit by them at their facility to accommodate it. The seat is sideways, and it has a auxillary transmission (bucket line drive gear) to give 6 forward gears.

Everything works as it should, and since it has not been 'travelled' much, the sprockets, tracks, engine etc. are still in great original condition.

I think very little is known about these contraptions, so it will, I hope, be a nice addition to your great site.

About its history, it was used for Public Works in the LA area (southern California). It was later acquired by a Public School System in Arizona and used by them for 30 years. Latterly it was acquired by a private individual in New Mexico where the hydraulics were refurbished.

And presently it is on its way from NM to me in Upstate NY/Ontario, Canada.

With best wishes...keep up the great work!
Chris
