The only thing that is left on the aluminium id plate is a stamped number, 2448226. The bore measures about 3-5/16. Block casting number 7 19 50?346. Please tell me, if you can, what model I have and year of production. The rest of the machine appears to be a 1956 but I believe that this is a different engine than came from the factory. Thank you in advance.
On left side of the engine on middle just
underneth the block deck there are also
the same number if the plate number
is hard to reed.
im sorry but i cant tell you what year it is
from the engine number , maby someone
else can.
Dave,
Call Landis Zimmerman, he may have the info you need.
Sounds to me like you have and engine that is bored oversize.
The IXK engine had a 4.25" standard bore.
The number there is 717-738-2573.
The Floyd County museum may be of some help to you, their at: 641-228-1099 in the HPOCA dept.
Good Luck,
George Gibby:)
If that casting date is the summer of 1950, then that engine is an IXB which has a 3.250 bore and if it was bored 60 over it would be 3.310 which is real close to 3-5/16 (3.3125) Don,t forget late HG tractors had the IXB engines also a friend of mine who used to work on these said if they over hauled the HG they woul make it an IXB and add the water pump.
