Title: Cletrac/Case VA
Post by: seshns on April 22, 2005, 05:38:10 PM
I just purchased a crawler that  has a Case VA engine mounted on a cletrac (HG?) crawler.  Does anyone know if this tractor is a factory model or something else.  The model stated on the serial tag is a VAB. Thanks for any help you can give.

I assume that is the serial tag on the engine?
Look on the firewall for a Cletrac Serial tag.  Otherwise, send photos, and we'll help identify it.

I assume it'a a Continental flathead engine as used in the Case VA, and not the overhead valve Case built engine as used in the VAC.  Same engine, I believe, was used in the Terratracs which use the same transmission as the Cletrac.

Thanks for the response.  The engine is the VAC version and the serial tag is located on the VAC dash .  I will take some pictures soon and send to you.
Regards,
Stan
