Have a line on a couple of HG42 long unused. I would appreciate knowing where I could located basic specs on these crawler, especially what the weight would be.

According to the Nebraska tractor test book (test number 324), the basic tractor weighs out at 2,950#s. If you have an implement (blade, bucket, etc.) or attachment (PTO, belt drive, etc.) you will have to up the weight to compensate for them. Also based on the date of the test, I doubt this tractor was electric start so, if yours is electric start, you need to add a few pounds for the starter, generator, and battery. I've noticed over the years that weights reported in the Nebraska tractor test books vary a little bit depending on what book you're looking at so, others may have different weights but, this info will put you in the ball park. I have a spec sheet with a lot of other pertinent data including fluid capacities, dimensions, torques for engine bolts, bearing clearances, etc. but it's too big to post here (7meg).
