Title: Grandfather died owning 8 cletracs and a few others. Any sug
Post by: gotabeme on July 11, 2005, 05:13:54 AM
My Grandfather passed away recently. After an inventory of his property in South-Eastern Nebraska I now have to divide up the property and contents.

The Cletracs were his cup of tea but he also has a Oliver-Hart-Parr, Moline Universal, a few International Harvesters, and two Fordsons. As far as the Cletracs go, he had an ADH, AG6, BGS, 35G, WG (12), W (12) chassis, EG 68, and another that he had the heads and block cleaned & machined but hadn't put back together. Couple of them run from his last account.

My question is this. Should I hang on to all of these? I have to divide up everything with 2 sisters. They probably do not want any of it. I want to hang on to them but I am not sure of the worth & trouble it will take. I live in California. I don't have my own shop (yet...) to do with these what should be done. Even if I were to restore them, would they be worth the time & money (and financial fights with the sisters) that I would have to invest? I know he bought them for prices between $400 & $1000. I have seen some advertized for $1995 on Ebay that looked in pretty good condition. I know the F, R, & H's bring a high dollar but do any that my grandfather had?

I would gladly listen to any advice I could get. Email me or post on here.

Thanks,

I think I would keep the ones you want and then have an auction and sell the others.

Dealing with families after a death is a very hard thing to do. People can act completely different than they ever did before. It can split up a happy family forever.
