Title: OC-4 Final Drive
Post by: brberno on July 17, 2005, 07:25:03 PM
Trying to find a R/S final drive for a 59 OC-4.  The end nut slipped off mine and destroyed the threads on the shaft and I am sure the bearings are shot also.  I guess then the next question would be, how hard is it to change one. I see aprox 6 bolts (nuts) that hold it on but is it sleeved into the housing that drive it?? Would appreciate any help.

Ben

You really need to get a manual. Zimmerman's  have them.  If the threads are all that is wrong any good machine shop can turn weld and recut threads. We do it all the time where I work. Bearings should be available from motion industries. I have a manual on the way from an e-bay auction (I hope).
