Title: Cletrac AD2H
Post by: Whitbeard on September 18, 2005, 06:18:51 AM
I was hoping to find information avbout my
Cletrac AD2(H). I think it was built around 1939
- I was putting off fixing the stuck engine (Buda
- Ithink) when Some rain got past the shift boot
and stuck the linkage.

all of this is fixable - but I can't find any
manuals or other info - all help appreciated - I
need to get it going for a project that is coming
up next spring.

Any info or leads appreciated.

most things should be the same from the AD2 and the AD other than the AD has a Hercules diesel. But like I said all the trans and differential parts are the same if not real close.

I am getting water in the transmissnon on a couple of tractors and wonder what the easy way to stop the water since parts are no longer available.  I tried heavy grease and an plastic oil can on another but neither worked very well.  The oil can split in the sunlight.

You might try making leather boots that are tight on the collar and on the shaft but with enough slack between the 2 to allow for stick movement - i'd soak 'em inmink oil and snoseal before I did the final stitching,

I find that the front wheel drive small car cv boots work well on shifters. The axel end is close to the correct fit.
Good luck

Several years ago I had a local Amish harness shop duplicate the original Cletrac leather boots. They work perfect, are authentic and didn't cost much.
