Does anyone know where I can find a Weidley engine or parts for a Cletrac W?
Erik
Erik, the best and only supplier for the W is Landis Zimmerman! My 2 cents..
There used to be a W sitting about 2 miles from my house. Sadley I think it was scrapped a few years ago. Then there was one at J.F. Brittain in Erie, but it's gone now. There used to be several at Burgh's Junkyard in Zelianople, PA years ago, but I have no idea if they are still around.
Thanks! I have contacted Burgh's and IÃ,´ll contact Zimmerman.
Blake, how could you let them scrap the W's!!!!!!!!!
I have got my hand on a one of the few remaining swedish built Cletrac W copies that you can read about in the Photo page. This was an unknown crawler that I now have rescued. It has been used for collecting Moose during hunting season up to this date in the north of Sweden. That's what I call value for money when you still can use a machine in these days that was built in the 1920's! Saldy they had changed the engine and put in a Volvo B20 engine with gearbox, thats why I need a Weidley engine.

It was probably 20 years ago that I saw the W around here. I didn't live here then, but knew the area as it was on the way to our engine show grounds. The Cletrac was sitting on the corner of two roads and there was a junk yard behind it. Aparently, the owner of the junk yard sold out and someone immediately cleaned up the whole place. I heard about it later. There's a chance the Cletrac was saved, but I don't know one way or the other for sure. It was rough.
The other one up at Britton's was probably sold to someone. That was back when I was in college in 1979 or so.
