I would like to convert my hand crank HG to electric start. My arms are not what they use to be. I was wondering if all I would have to do is put in a bell housing, starter, battery, alternator, and small amount of wiring. Or is there something I am not thinking about. Also are the flywheels all the same for the IXA and IXB engines, and is there a difference in the flywheels between electric and non electric start. Also if any body has any spare parts they would like to sell let me know. Thanks
You also need a flywheel with a ring gear.
Don't know about all of them, but most had the ring gear fitted - real cheap at manufacture but expensive to retrofit). Mine certainly did, although they were never fitted with electric start. Same on my Oliver wheeled tractors except maybe the Rowcrop 80s which could not be elctric started as an option.

if you have trouble finding the parts you need , look for a avery model A , they used the same bellhousing , flywheel and starter.
