Title: 1951 oc3-42 serial#1WHO20
Post by: rstysht on April 13, 2006, 02:08:08 AM
I bought a oc3-42 parts machine,I cleaned the tag off & the serial# is 1WHO20,is this the 20th OC3 crawler built?I don't want to part it if it is that early,it needs to be restored,I have a full plate already with my hg68.It is missing the complete left side undercarrage,& track.& someone cut the hood & grill off to get the radiator,The engine is still loose,& has compression, the crawler also has the optional underdrive transmission. What do you guys think I should do?Sell it ?Or sell my hg68 & rebuild the oc3-42?

as a general rule the narrower hg and oc3 tractors are worth more than the 68 guage tractors. i believe 1wh020 would be the 10th oc3 built since they only used even numbers , so that would be a tractor worth restoring.i restored a early oc3 last year ,being green makes the tractor more unusual. mine is 1wh124.there are a couple of photos in the website album.

Thanks Walter,so it is the 10th one built & could be the oldest one to still exhist. It is missing a lot of stuff,I have always wanted an hg68,so I think I will sell the oc3-42 & let someone else be the lucky one to rebuild it.
