Title: oiling track rollers
Post by: Dr Bert on November 10, 2006, 02:11:27 AM
Help!  Read an article in the "Hart Parr Oliver " magazine pertaining to rebuilding HG track rollers.  Advises that oil seals be reversed to allow air etc. to escape while filling the roller.  Being new to crawlers, I didn't do this.  It was not mentioned in the instruction book  (too old) and Zimmermans didn't send a heads-up when they sent the seals.
Question--do I dare use a gun --very slowly-- to fill each roller or should I fill them with a large syringe or by gravity flow?
Any secrets and or advise will be appreciated.  Thanks,  Dr Bert

The seals will not allow gravity flow no matter which way they are turned . Use your oil lube gun slowly and you should be OK.
