Found an AG6 in the woods that's pretty much junk. Is it worth trying to save the engine for my AG? Will they bolt right in? ITs in a really thick pice of woods and just trying to decide if it's worth the trouble of trying to remove the engine. Thanks!
If you have both complete crawlers , you can change it over.

The motor is essentially complete, needs a new manifold and distributor. carb is still there.
So in other words, the AG, AG6, and AD all used the same bolt pattern on the bell housing, correct? Has anyone been able to adapt another type of small diesel engine to that bell housing?
For what it is worth the AG-6 engine was furnished as a complete replacement engine for the 4 cylinder OOC 4 cylinder. There is a model E that comes to the show over by Fort Wayne some years that has the Continetal in it and you would never know it was a replacement. The Continetal is pretty easy to get part for.
This is slightly off subject but where could I get a Contental engine manual?
First of all I have been cleaning and I have a photocopy of one. But are we talking for the L-head engines? I also have manuals for Continetal OHV engines as well as Continental Diesels.
the trans. case is the same but you will use the adapter plate that matches the engine.
John , did the E with a Cont. f226 have a starter on it? My E's do not have provisions in the bellhousing to accept a starter nose.
The 6 cylinder continental will fit into an electric start AG tractor. Crank start did not have an opening for the starter. As for the AD they are quite a bit different. The starter is on the opposite side as the gas and you will need another front engine bracket. also the bottom radiator openings are on opposite sides. ect.
Other than those differances I am almost posative everything else is the same.

The E's came either way - electric start or crank start - I assume exactly like the AGs.

So parts from an Oliver 77 would fit? I need a governor and it would be good to have some spare parts. How about a Magneto form some other engine?
I don't know where this parts for the Oliver 77 came in. The only crawler they would fit would be an OC-6. What kind of governor are you looking. There is more than one governor for a Continental.
