Is it possible that the original paint color on a 1936 Cletrac 40D is red? If not, what? Thanks Ted.
Pretty much everything is possible.
The standard color would have been Cletrac Orange (DuPont 017 orange).
O. K. The 40 is not streamlined, correct. I have only ever seen one 40 diesel and it was the Chestnut. So my question is, did they go to the orange color when they streamlined the tractors. I looked at unstreamlined AG the other year, one of the first ones and it too was not orange.

Thanks John for the comments. The 40D is not streamlined. It is the 4th from last of 613 units and is equipped w/Sargent overhead loader. Machine has very little wear probably because it did not function well with the loader. It's present color is 99% rust, 1% red. Maybe red color applied by Sargent ?
