Title: OC-4 Track Idler
Post by: dfdengine on April 14, 2007, 03:05:53 PM
My OC-4 track idler bearings are shot. Tore it down, but can't get the idler supports off the shaft. Is this pressed on or do I just have to apply large amounts of heat? Tried using a puller with no luck. Any suggestions with be appreciated.

The front idler supports are a light press fit .Use a puller and heat . If there is much play in the shaft fit . You will probably need to replace the shaft and bushings .

Thanks Walt, I got them off and boy was that fun. It looks like I just need the bushings as the shafts look in pretty good shape.  I'll call Zimmerman's and see if the bushings and seals are still available.
