Title: Transmission oil leak
Post by: Dr Bert on April 30, 2007, 02:30:02 AM
Several days ago I filled the trans-diff. case and took my HG42 for a test run.  Several hours after parking it I noticed a slow oil leak from each of the lower studs that attach the mainframe to the transmission case.  I don't recall ever having them out during the rebuild.  Does anyone have any ideas how I might solve this problem short of totally disassembling the whole rear end ?  Is there a transmission stop leak that might work?  Is it possible to remove those studs with the rear end assembled?  Any ideas or sugguestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
