Title: need DRXB parts help
Post by: ifurlong on July 24, 2007, 09:08:42 PM
I just got a DDH (I think) with a 6-cylinder Hercules DRXB. I really want to get it running, it needs the starter, some water manifold parts, sleeves and pistons. I have not taken the engine out yet so maybe I will need more parts. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks, Ian

Before you buy anything disassemble your engine.  To rebuild this engine the parts are getting very hard to find and they are spread out all over the place. the most important thing is if the crank is in good condition if not the crank will have to be welded and re-cut and ground, only standard sized bearings are still around.  I have two of these engines and the lowest price to have them reworked is $1100 if you think the chassis is worth restoring the engine at a minimum will be $2500 if you decide to go through this engine e-mail me for vendor details.  Good luck    p.s number rod is allways the first one to go and three and four cylinders burn out the most of the time

I am not clear what you mean, is it $1100 or $2500? you said you have two of these engines, are you keeping them or is one for sale?

thanks

I got some DRXC parts from M&M surplus sales in New York a few years ago.  I listed them in the parts section on this site.  I also know where you can get rebuilt RXC gas engines that were used in the gas version of this tractor, the DG.  You need the DG adapter plate, front gear cover and governor.  I have some extras of those parts if you are interested, but I live in BC Canada which is I think a long way from you.  The RXC engine are in Ohio! Send me an PM if interested.
