Hi all,
I'm looking for an Air Cleaner in most any usable or restorable condition. My tractor is a 1939 GG Serial # 3FA100. Original Part # 112413 Vortox or #112125. PN #112413 supersedes PN #112125.
I would also be interested in any Air Cleaner that would be close enough to use even with some modifications. Say from a HG-42 or a Wards Twin Row, BF Avery, etc.
Thank You,
Al
Where are you located. I have some possiable sources. John
I am located on California's Central Coast. Santa Maria to be exact. This is my first tractor restoration and I'm very excited about it. This will be a very easy restoration since it was restored once already about 10 to 12 years ago. The original restoration was rather amateurish, but at least I won't have rust to deal with. Some mechanical work, a new radiator, some sheet metal work and new paint should do it.
I already tried Zimmerman with no luck. They said to try again in a couple of weeks, but wow are they on the pricy side. They only sell rebuilts. If they ever get one in and I haven't located one yet, I guess I'll have to go the big bucks, but I can deal with a less expensive salvage yard variety.
They have a club for those little Generals and there sucessors. The president of the club lives about 20 miles from here. Our fair is this week and he will probably be there Tuesday when it is tractor Day. He has parted out a couple of those models. Of course we are a good distance from you. We are in far Northwest Ohio.
John,
I wonder if it might be possible for you to talk to this gentleman about the Air Cleaner. If he has something suitable have him call me and tell him Iââ,¬â,,¢ll be happy to pay for shipping and handling. The GG is pretty scarce out here in the west. There are a few HGs, but near as I can tell, most are in the hands of collectors. I will follow up this post with an email containing my phone number and address.
Thank you, I appreciate all the help
