I recently completed a fairly complete rebuild on an HG 68. I had new track pins and bushings installed on the tracks. It has new roller bearings and idler bearings and all new bearings and seals on the final drives. The sprockets are in fairly good shape. The tracks are adjusted according to the specs in the manual. It drives beautifully, howerer the tracks are extremly squeaky. I have another HG 42 that is waiting for a similar rebuild and, of course, the rear seals are shot and there is gear oil on the sprockets and it is very quiet. No squeaking at all, just he slap, slap, slap of the pads as they come around. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated. Just run it for a while and let the new pins and bushings wear in a little and your squeak should be history!
I would pour a good amount of drain oil on your track rails and run it around to work it in.
