I got the engine running on the OC-46 that I'm getting from my Aunt. I only had a few inches to play around with it since it is in a storage garage but everything seems to work except the front end loader. Is there some sort of switch to send the hydraulics to the loader. I have the backhoe attached and it works but the loader did not move at all. The loader is a 46-3 S/N 3645. I tried working the two levers to the right of the driver seat but no matter what I tried nothing happened. There is a single spindle valve just in front of the valve with the two levers but this didn't have an effect either, although it didn't seem to move very well.
I've got an operator guide coming that I bought on ebay but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ed
I would expect that there is a selector valve that directs the oil flow to the loader or backhoe. It could be a lever with two positions or a push pull knob. Follow the hose from the pump that valve should be the first thing you come too.
Robert - Where is the pump located on this machine?
Thanks
Ed
Ed, My OC-46 doesn't have a backhoe, but My model 46 loader manual does make mention of a diverter valve that is located in front of the loader control valve for tractors with a trencher. I suspect the third valve you mentioned is it.
The pump is mounted on the front frame directly in front of the engine and is driven off the front of the crankshaft.
