Title: e-38 with factory 3pt hitch
Post by: Bob on September 14, 2008, 03:41:01 PM
I was at an auction yesterday and there was an E38 with a factory 3 pt hitch. I am sure it was factory because I saw an oliver tag on it. Couldn't quite read it but it was there. One lift arm was broke. I was going to buy it but the reserve was more than I or anybody else wanted to spend.

Just wondering if anybody else has had a chance to lay their hands on one?

Oliver made 3 point hitches for the OC-6 and the small OC-4  crawlers. It could be one of those. The E models went out of production about the start of World War 2. Oliver did not come also untill close to the end of World War 2

I could believe that could be the case. It looked as if the front was trimmed a little to fit. I wasn't sure becouse it fit around the axel housing so well. Now that I sit and think about it ti didn't seem to fit proportionally to the rest of the machine. What was neat is the hydrolic pump was hooked to the right side of the engine, driven by the cam gears.
