Hi all
Can someone please confirm the diameter of the gear shift knob. I am guessing it is a phenolic ball knob??
Also could someone please confirm the diameter of the ball knob used on the headlight mounts. I know the thread is 1/2" UNF but not the diameter
Cheers
Paul
Paul, I have the incomplete hulks of two MG-1's,one has a shiny (aluminum?) knob but the other has a knob that appears to be phenolic. Not perfectly, round more like a top.At the widest 1-15/16" and across the base 1-1/8" as near as I can tell using a tape and shakey hands/bad eyes.I did take a photo if we can figure out a way to get it to you---E-Mail?. Jim
Paul you might find what you are looking for at this site:
http://www.olivercletrac.com/parts.html (http://www.olivercletrac.com/parts.html)
Thou they are listed for a Cletrac "E" model the controls look very simular to the MG-1/M-2
hope this helps,
Bernard
Paul,
I called ZIMMERMAN OLIVER-CLETRAC, www.olivercletrac.com (http://www.olivercletrac.com), and they did a parts cross check for me. The part number for the shift knob and trottle knob for the M2/MG1 are the same for the "E" series and the price was not bad $6 each ordered them and a set of steering hand grips too. They were very friendly and helpful.

Paul,
Just received the shift and throttle knobs and they messure 1 7/8" dia. They are made of hard plastic.

Bernie bought the knobs and grips for the Cletrac from Zimmerman's and when we tried to install them we found out that the threads were different.
The Cletrac MG-1/M2 we have has 1/2-18 threads on both the throttle and gear shift levers. The knobs from Zimmerman has a 1/2-20 threaded brass insert.
We have ordered the special tap from a machine tool supply outfit to fix the knob. Should anyone want to use the tap they are welcome to borrow it just send it back when you are done.
The knobs and brake grips look great so if you need good quality replacements I can vouch for the ones from Zimmerman's.
Thanks for the awesome gift Bernie!
Thanks for replies on gear knobs. I will order some and hand grips from Zimmerman in a couple of weeks. I may also buy two bare chassis that have just come up for sale in the UK. Chassis and transmission only
