Title: Fuel Pump Lubrication
Post by: Mat on March 23, 2009, 12:39:15 AM
The fuel pump on my AD looks different then the one shown in the manual I have for my tractor. The pump on my crawler is a Roosa-Master model GB-CC-L-31-5. Would this be a replacement pump? I assume it would take the same oil as goes in the engine, am I correct? The previous owner replaced the front seal on the pump, he said it was leaking fuel, could it have been leaking it's lubricating oil? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

No: The Roosa Master pumps are entirely lubricated by diesel fuel. You have either a late AD or someone put the kit on to convert it from the plunger type pump. How about sending me a serial number and a photo? Your fuel filters may also be different.

Thanks for the info John, I sent some pic's to your email. The tractor serial number is 9Z-134. I have a lot of work to do on this AD. I took the left side track apart last fall and removed the buffer spring assemble which was broken and freed up the track adjusting nut. I have a good buffer spring assemble which I hope to reinstall soon. I expect I will have to do the same to the other side to free up the adjusting nut but hopefully the spring will be ok.

If you need a spring or other track/ uc parts let me know. I have an AG6 that is just a parts tractor.

Does that AG6 have good tracks Bob? The tracks on my AD are pretty worn with a link taken out of one side and mismatched grousers.

The tracks off the AG6 aren't the best. I have a set off of an AD I would consider selling. They are good, but need 2 links for one side. It had 2 links cobbled in to make it up on that side. I was always going to take 2 better links and make another good set but just never did. PM me and we can talk about it.
