Can anyone post a brand name and part number for the clutch disc. My local parts people are not coming up with much. Thanks
I have looked also, zimmerman has them, $75 I think for the disk
Ron
A 73 chevy vega has the same spline and shaft with a 9 1/8" diamiter. I just ordered one to try to match up. Not sure if the off set on the spline will be correct. Will let you know if it works
Part numbers for the clutch are as follows. Long clutch drive disk is 112 194
For the Borg & Beck which was used between serial numbers 25GA040 to 25GA553 is 115 470 The Long clutch is a model 9C-FC Is this is not enough information will do a little more digging. or email me via the U2U route.
Thanks for the info. I like the Vega idea as it may be less expensive. I did find out that a Rayloc R-859 and a Perfection RHD-196 are supposed to be equivalent replacements. The Book at NAPA also showed the Perfection number would fit certain Ford tractors. Anyway I have one comming from NAPA, $60.00, and maybe I will track down the Ford info just for fun.
I don't know if I could go somewhere in public and ask for a clutch for a 73 Vega:o:P
If you do, at least whisper it to the parts guy and make sure he knows beforehand that you don't acutally own a Vega!
Back to square one. NAPA supplier is out of stock and has no cores to reline. It would be nice if the Vega or Ford options pan out. Are Long or Borg&Beck still around or have they been bought and swallowed by someone else?
Borg and Beck are still around and make a lot of the current clutches.
If your disc is still good, why don't you just have it re-lined?
Give these guys a call and see if they can help. If so, let us know and we'll see if we can get them to advertise here:

Still waiting on Vega disc from auto parts store but in the mean time I got a redone one from O'Brien County Implement at 712-324-4871 with in 4 days
I tracked down the ford lead, no match with ford parts. The ford dealer had all the old books and part numbers on oliver but would need to send my disk in for lining. Was your rebuilt in the $75 range.
Zimmerman said about 35-40 to redo a good core plus shipping. I got a rebuilt one from O brien impliment for 76.00 plus shipping.

I just ordered a vega clutch, I called the parts store he did chuckle some but its will be here on thursday I will let you know if its going to work, it was less then $15
Ron one HG one OC-3
A Monza has the same disc size as the Vega so to keep you guys from laughing to hard I'll talk about the Monza disc instead:D
Ok I picked up the Vaga clutch disk it fits fine, (I didn't try it on the borg and beck set up) I think that I will order the pressure plate and see if the mounting holes can be made to work.
Ron
I looked at the vaga pressure plate, the mounting holes were way off, if you just had to, and a guy was good, he could redrill the holes in the flywheel, but I think I'll use my old one.
Ron
Can the old pressure plate be rebuilt and or ground? I have an old one with rusty surface. I've kept it because I thought it might be usable someday.
