Does anyone know what an oc46 with factory (2piece) counterweight weighs? I'm guessing 8000lbs. but would love to know for sure before transporting. Thanks, Tom
Very very close! 8080 for the gas engine. 8110 for the diesel. See http://cletrac.org/media/pictures/OC4pics/OC-4_pg12.jpg (//http)
Blake, do you have the same info for a oc3?
Thanks Ron
To my knowledge there was no OC-36. It is and OC-3 plus the weight of the loader which will vary according to who manufactured it.
Is a couterweight truly the same weight as the entire vehicle? That doesn't seem to make sense with respect to the theory of counterweights (nor in practice given the size/location of the couterweights).
The standard OC 46 counter weight is two 400 lb weights for a total of 800 lbs.

The only weight that it counters is the unbalance of a full loader bucket. This will vary depending on material but I'd have to say it was sized to be with-in a certain weight for safe operation regardless of bucket load.
In my OC4-3G operators Manual the operating weight is approximatly 4,305 pounds. How huch the loader is I don't know as I can" find my loader manual, it is somewhere in the pile.
The 4300 # is for the bare tractor. The early OC 46 with 4 cyl engine was 7400 # The 3 cly models were 7700 gas 7800 diesel and the series B were just over 8000# as listed above. They vary a little bit depending on the specific options the tractor had.
