Title: HG Series Drive Components
Post by: 100550dvr on January 19, 2010, 05:24:53 AM
Does anyone supply reproduction trunion nuts and support castings for the HG Series crawlers? My were worn and I was able to remachine them to properly fit. Would need original drawings to determine machining tolerances.

I would think the nuts were available from any fastener supplier. Call Zimmermans for housings or nuts

The problem is my terminology. I'm asking if there is a source for new trunnions and inner/outer support bracket castings. When I talked to Zimmerman's about it, their answer was that no such replacement parts existed. That's when I remachined my components. Machining new trunnions and pouring new support castings would not be difficult if the original drawings could be sourced for tolerancing purposes.

My mistake, I thought you were looking for the Final housing specs to cast. The support brackets would be pretty easy to figure out if you could get the bore I.D. dimension. Actually I like the idea of machining them from billet. The outer trunnion would be easy. As for the inner trunnion I'm not sure if that's part of the final housing casting or a removable part with the spindle. I didn't look that close when I had mine apart.
