Hi,
My dad and I are restoring an F and are looking for a shift lever detent spring. The part would be bent in a horseshoe shape and goes on a round cover that bolts on the side of the transmission. It keeps the shift lever in F, N, or R position.
Thanks,
Dan

You might call Zimmermans but not sure if he has much that goes that far back. Have you considered making one?
Thanks for the reply.
We called Zimmermans when we first started looking a couple of years ago, and they didn't have one. I suppose we could call again.
If anyone knows someone that could make one, that would be great too. A friend of my dad's in Idaho tried to make one for us, but wasn't able to. I guess it's pretty tricky to heat treat a piece of spring steel properly and get all the right bends in it and still have it be strong.
Good luck with the OC-46, it looks nice. An OC-46 was my dad's first dozer and my brother in Massachusetts has it now.
Do you have a picture of this spring and some dimensions?
I'll post a picture and dimensions tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
