i am in the process of overhauling my fathers 1954 oc-3 crawler loader and was wondering where i would find the serial # for the tractor itself.

The serial number plate is on the right side of the bell housing.  There's also a block cast date behind the magneto and an engine serial number on the left hand side of the block, just below the head.

I'm in the process of overhauling my Grandfathers 1949 HG-68 with a 1955 OC-3 loader waiting in the wings. Good luck on your overhaul.  :!:

Thanks for the information,i was able to make out the numbers 43 and 9 on the tag of the bell housing and Landis from zimmerman identified the motor as a 44' from the serial number on the motor.

This isn't the original motor as my father changed it out in 1975 after it threw a rod, i'll check out the old motor when i get up north to visit my mom.

Would oliver have cast some type of identification number in the transmission or rear end to identify a date?
