11WH420 would be a late 1952.

I'm now trying to time the governor flyweight to the can gear - is there a trick to do this?
I have a  "'2"' marked on one tooth and a open tooth and then a"3".
I assume there is a mark on the cam gear?  Does bringing #1 to TDC make this mark visable?

thanks  johnka

The 2 is for a 20 degree mag and the 3 is for a 34 degree mag. Oliver always used the 34 degree mag.  There will be a punch mark at the valley between the teeth on the cam gear.  Set the mag drive gear with the 3 in that valley.

John,

Zimmermans enclosed a 3 page Tech Tip on timing the Hercules IX-3 series with my last order.

If you have a FAX, he will fax it to you.
