Unfortunately we've lost the pictures, my "unknown" model Toyota powered threw a track today, the master pin had been retained by nails. What belongs in there? I don't have a couple of "huge" (1/8? 3/16?) cotter pins. Of course for now she's back on her feet with TWO MORE NAILS in the pin!!
I found most of the pictures, but they are not identifiable by their current file names. If you want me to look for yours, give me a description of what to look for and I will. Blake
Hi 440Roadrunner, I don't know for sure ,but i would suggest a Roll pin .Ian .

Hi Blake, sorry for all the malfeasance here lately. I would like to get the pictures back up on my "buildup" thread

If this turns out to be more trouble than it's worth, I probably still have most/ some of them and can repost them when I get time.
So far as the master pin retainer, a roll pin? I'd thought that would be the last choice, I was thinking probably cotter pins. I was thinking of welding a nub on one end to eliminate 50% of the problem.

If you're looking for just a regular pin that is used to hold the master pin in, it should be just a piece of steel rod that will go through the hole with a bend on each end. Usually S-shaped.
Wow, OK. I'll have to find something that fits good and is as large as possible. Maybe a nail wasn't so bad after all!!
This is the first time I've lost a track since I was a kid. My Gramps used to have a Lindeman--Deere, which we were using to put up his "snow fence," sections of fence on skids to prevent drifting in the winter.
I've used 1/4" mild steel rod and/or 4" spikes, bent to the "Z" shape to lay flat against the chain boss.
