Post by: da-choppa on February 04, 2011, 01:57:58 AM
anyone got a good source for a person who can make custom/reproduction data tag (plate) p?  Someone who can acid etch a duplicate from a picture of an original plate, or make a custom plate that has a "blending" of information into a plate?

I was on ebay looking for items for my M100 jeep trailer and there was some reproduction data plates listed. The company also mentioned below the listing to inquire for other types of plates. I know I've heard of companies here in the states that do these too. As a matter of fact I just did a google search for "reproduction data plates" and got quite a few hits

There is a company in Ohio called Cutting Edge that has made stainless data plates for my work. I knwo they can do all kinds of work and do small runs and custom work. I have never inquired about data plates for tractors but if they would be willing to make them let me know as I may order some.

I do not know if you have had plates made yet but http://www.nostalgicreflections.com/ have made plates for me.  They can do it from a photo with dimensions or if you have the original, no matter the condition, they can copy that.  They can copy it down to the imperfections in the original number stamping.

Unfortunately the price is quite high but the workmanship is unsurpassed.
