Being lazy and tried to side-load instead of use my winch and drag her on to my flatbed.
Had to chain up the undercarriage further away from front grill of the OC46 than I normally would for a lift coz I needed to clear the trailer wheel arches...oops!
Tilted-up even worse than this pic, until I put some blocks on the back.
Finally put TONS of blocks on her and one in each side bin! Got her done ;-)
Note, previous owner put an older HG idler on one side...its been OK so far, but will swap that out this Winter.
You mean those blocks aren't factory? Isn't it amazing what those little tractors can do?
Blake
Maybe I should paint some of those blocks yellow ;D
Agreed Blake. Having played with OC3s for years, this newly acquired OC46 never ceases to amaze me.
That gives me an IDEA. ::) Mount a set of channel irons on back, pinned to the counter weight brackets and put the counter weights on the channel. When you need more weight, pull a pin on each side and slide the channel back. Replace the pin in the back hole and go to work.
Don't tell OSHA but I have seen about 5K added on the back of a 15,000lbs fork truck to get a forge press apart. It seems the seals in the mast need replaced about every other time the machine needs worked on thought. A 20,000lbs Taylor does the job better now.
