Title: What is the value of sprockets and tracks
Post by: bluegrallis on June 27, 2011, 03:40:47 AM
I have a set of sprockets and tracks from a parts tractor a guy is interested in. What price would be reasonable? The tracks are tight from setting with very little wear on the bushings and rails look good to my untrained eye. The sprockets look good too.
Here is a link to some pictures.

I've seen sprockets in that condition can go for $100-200 a piece. I'm not sure about tracks, those look real nice from the pictures. I think a new set go for about $2,000. Are those tracks 32 pad per side or 30?

As Hotratz says about $100-$200 for a decent sprocket. They look like $120-140 worth. Tracks all depend on pitch (pin to pin) and wear to bushings.
I have sold sets at $600 that were quite serviceable but when you reckon on $600 for a set of new pins and bushings and maybe $600 to fit them, that gives you some idea of what a good set might be worth.

I think a good sprocket would go for $75-100.

Bought a cherry set off tracks for $400 - both sides. Hope that helps. ;)

Hotratz: Guess I better qualify the $400 price.  The guy I bought the tracks from was the son of a Cletrac dealer, his father loved his Cletracs, the son heads up our Syracuse, New York Office of the Dept. of Transportation Maintenance shop, got a NOS carb, mag and two rollers thrown into boot. Real nice guy, since I work for DOT guess he wanted to give me a break.  Said he rather they get put to use rather than go to China.  I need to go visit him again!!! Glad this question came up.  Hope everyones summer is going well!!!
