Good morning all,, I just bought what I think is a 1940 or 1941 BD. My question is ,
I have 4 foreward gears and two reverse, does this mean 6 speed? motor ser# 807482. Thank for any help.
Rayman
Yes I would assume it does, my 1951 BD also has four forward two reverse. Sam
Thanks Sam,,and could someone agree that based on the ser# it would be a 1940 or 1941. the numbers I can find on the net are not clear.
Rayman
Can you get the tractor serial no. its on the right if your in the seat, on the engine side of the bulk head. Sam
Sam I will Get those numbers in an hour or so
and get back to ya.
Thanks
Rayman
Well it seems I have a BDH ,,frame plate reads 12D312. I looked it up and found very little info after 5D000 1939
& up. War time and all I quess I need to find production numbers for the next few years to see were I fall. Thanks for any info you can provide..
Rayman
Well after further research I found out its a 1948. Still have many ? to ask..Be back when I get this $%@# generator off...
Rayman
once you have undone the bolts on the coupler and the three bolts that hold the generator to the engine it should come away easy enough the coupling are held on by one nut on the shaft and a keyway. Does your generator need rebuilding? it will be interesting to compare the cost, as I've just taken 2 to be rebuilt here in the UK. I Have some new rubbers for the flexi couplings if yours is worn. Sam
Goodonya Sam, I will let you know what the outcome is..
