Title: newbie needs help

  hi everyone new here.   Could use some help picked up what i was told was an AG6 got it running worked it a little tracks became a problem....found another what im told is AG6 for parts.On getting this machine home and pushing it in the shop with other machine noticed that parts machine is wider.Track width and pad width both.......no tags on these could use some help to  identify them ..thanks Jim   .....spaceman

The AG was made in two widths, narrow gauge 42" center to center of tracks and hill side or wide gauge 50" c to c of tracks.  Other than that tractors are the same, only the parts related the the width are different.  There are two types of tracks used, early ones had two bolts holding the track shoes on later ones had 4 bolts.  If both of yours are the same the shoes will swap from one track to the other.  A standard track has 29 links, when tracks get worn it is common for a link to be removed.  By that time the pins and bushings are well worn, if not to bad they can be turned to bring the track back to proper length.

 thanks it looks like you are right. Thats what i got when i took a tape to them. will get some pics on here if I can.
