Pull top cover and brakes. Pull axles out thru the sprocket, use the notch in the sprocket to have enough clearance. Oil pump in differential must come out as well. Pull bearing caps off differential. Lift differential out. You will have to get into the clutch compartment ant take the clutch out. Then the trans comes apart easily partially thru the front. Sounds like alot, but pretty simple.

PS I may have the parts you need when you get that far

Maaaaaate,
Thanks for the tips. I had visions of having to pull tracks, split the tractor. lift heavy stuff ... etc!
I'll be in there having a go now following your instructions implicitly!
Will let the forum know how I progress!

Well to make you feel better, there will be a little heavy lifting. That differential is nothing but heavy. I think its best to make a couple hook jiggers to lift it out and put it back in with. Its not super heavy, you should be able to lift it by yourself fairly easy.

Does your OC-12 have a hand clutch or foot clutch? What type of steering - Spot Turn or regular Cletrac steering?

G,day Blake
Thanks for the response, the old girl has foot operated clutch and the steering is with two levers between legs. When i looked under the cover plate there is two clutch plates facing each other, and there is also a pressure plate on flywheel tha doesnt look like it is connected.Hope this is enough info for you to get a picture.Look forward to your response.

If there are two clutch packs with steering bands around them under the cover, then you have Spot Turn steering where one track will stop completely like a Cat. The brake on your clutch is probably the one for helping the clutch to stop while shifting. Or else it's the foot brake that some OC-12s had - these never worked good.

The way I understand, the foot clutch was optional during later years, but was most likely found on regular steering tractors
