Title: High back seat
Post by: WJMurray on May 13, 2012, 07:10:48 PM
Could anybody give me the dimensions of the High back seat that came on some HGs. I would like to make one. I only found a couple of thread on this topic. Maybe I am searching wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:)  Assuming that this Seat is a high back,   The front is 22" across & 3" deep....The bottom is 10" front center to back.  The Back is 10" high

yorkyjer,
Thank you so much for the quick response. However it is the wrong seat. I have this particular seat on mine now. Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I meant the seat with cushions on the seat and back rest. They came on the "Sidewalk" versions I believe.

Ok,, here are some dimensions,,, it's kinda hard to explain this way,, but I'll give it a try. A drawing would be best, but I'm not that computer literate to get a drawing on here. The base is 16-1/2" wide, 15-1/2" front to back. Looking from the rear, The sides flare out to 2-1/4" (each side) wider than the back,, if you go up 1" from the bottom,, then on an angle for 4" to straight for 5", then a 90 degree bend out for the arm rest,, 2 1/4" wide. The back sticks up 8" higher than the arm rest. There is a radius on the corners, maybe a 3" rad. Looking at the sides,, the arm rest is shorter than the base,,it starts 1-1/2" from the back, is 11" long and there is a taper from the arm rest forward to meet the base. The arm rest has radius edges.  I think I'll try to post a few pics so this makes sense.

There are no arm rests on it. Hopefully this pic explains what I want. The parts book shows it as "Seat Assy."  Part#113 856

Ok,, thats another version. Mine is a square style seat with high back,, but has arm rests and is more closed in than the one you pictured.

The box base is made from 1-1/4 angled iron, 17 x 17 square.

The backrest is 18" high.  The backrest round stock surround mounts to the base frame, 6" from the back of the base frame.

The center back support is 7" wide.

The base center support is 5" wide with a bolt hole to mount to leaf springs.

I think this is what your looking for.

Paul,
Sorry about the late reply. I have been crazy busy at work. This is exactly what I was looking for. I will finally be able to start the seat build over this Memorial Day weekend. ;D
