Title: HG 1947 (differential & pto)

Hi,I'm new to forum so please bare with me.Bought this tractor a few months back and decided to tear it down for a makeover.My question is,should i take off the pto from the diff? (serial#204890).Why can't i turn the pto shaft by hand?

There's a locking lever. Try it on both up and down positions. One of them should allow you to turn the shaft, so long as the transmission is in neutral.
If you want to check and/or change brake bands or seriously flush out the transmission (always a good idea), then you'll have to take off the PTO unit.
