Title: OC-3-31 and Anderson Dozer
Post by: Kevin Aschenmeier on October 16, 2012, 05:04:32 AM
Hi.
We are putting an Anderson dozer on an OC-3-31. This is the dozer with the over-the-hood single ram.

I have seen pictures of snowplows with what looks to be an Anderson dozer lift on them.

The dozer was originally on a 41".

Does anyone have an Anderson mounted on an OC-3-31? What should we watch for? It looks like it will work out, with a bit of work. We plan on narroring the lift frame so that it lifts inderneath the frame, rather than outside of it.

Does anyone have any pictures of anything like this? Will it work?

Thanks.

Kevin

If it is the type that mounts on rear frame-mounted plates with a round steel bar and U-bolts and two push arms, I guess all you need to do is narrow it. I have the same set-up on an OC3-31 and it seems pretty much the same as the 42 gauge version I have.
How are you lifting it at the front end? The over-the-hood Anderson imp? There was another type (Davis I think) that had a hydraulic tank mounted in front of the rad, behind the grill and a single cantilevered arm above a piston. Some OC4-31s had that too (I have a 3G like that). That was the typical municipal OC3-31 gauge snow-plow set-up with an angled blade. Some had a canvas cab. Many OC4-31s had a solid cab.
I have both types if you have any questions.

Oliverchris:
Yes, it is the type with the U-bolts.

It has the over-the-hood Anderson imp lift.

We just have the side rails (?) ready to bolt on. The front lift portion needs a bit of clean up and welding. It had been used on an HG with a Datsun engine. The previous owner had cut part of it. Presumeably for ease of access.

We do not have any fenders or foot pegs. I have seen pictures of rebuilt fenders.

So far the biggest question is the foot pegs and fenders. Where do the foot pegs go? What do they look like?

Do you have any pictures you could email me?

Thanks.
