I would not get your picture to open. However Bill Williams down in Mississippi or Ron Goller up here in Ohio are big into the Avery tractors and both sell parts.
I've got a few decent bits and pieces. I'm in Upstate NY [north of Syracuse region]. What do you need? I have hood, side tins (same as HG I presume), air cleaner, governor, frame rails, a weathered but good manifold (Hercules cast in it) etc.
I have a General parts machine and an Avery A.

Thanks for the names guys. I had forgotten that I posted on here. I was searching up parts today and stumbled on my own post. Still haven't had too much luck with the parts. I did get ahold of a reprint manual and a reprint manual for the Hurc engine. They have proven to be fairly helpful

ok, so I've managed to locate some parts and the Twin Row is coming along. i have run in to a bit of a stumbling block though. The Mag/engine are not crazy about the -30 degree weather. so i've been looking to convert it to an electric start. i located everything i thought i needed but when i went to install it realized that my flywheel didn't have a ring gear. "Does anyone know where i can find a part number for this? without taking the bell housing off and disecting it (did i mention it's -30 out) i cant find any info for the ring gear or flywheel.
does anyone have any info on these parts? it's a hurc IXA-3 motor
Nate, I've never been to Alaska, so claim to be no expert on -30 temps (though I did see -25 here in Pennsylvania on Jan 28th of this year), but before I would go to the bother of changing flywheels, etc., I would put some more effort into fine tuning your mag and engine. With some light oil in her, she should start just as easily by hand as by a battery and starter. My Cletrac E (which has a OOC engine - almost twice as big as yours) will start by hand at around zero degrees. I've never tried it below that, but that is with 10W-30 oil, so I'm sure it would start in colder weather with lighter oil.
If you mag snaps over and sparks at those temps, and your carb is in good shape with a good clean fuel supply, it should start. If your mag won't snap, you may need to take it off and use a lighter oil to lubricate its moving parts. Also timing needs to be right on.
You can crank longer with an electric starter, but if everything is right on, it should start as quickly with a crank.
