Found in a field, hardly used, in Virginia. One broken brake band, cracked distributor cap - most everything else, excellent :)
Got a nice back-fill blade with it too.
Checked over and all hoses replaced by Harold Zimmerman - painted up the road by Frank Hoover.
And at home carrying an 800lb. ball of serpentine stone. One of my side-jobs: I supply raw carving stone to stone sculptors.
Wow! That's a beautiful machine Chris!
Wow! Nice!
Chris, 1st class find and job!

How long did it take you to restore it. Mine took almost three years, :-[ It sure is a beaut!
Well, I know this sounds insane, but it took Harold Zimmerman about a week and a half in labour, and it took the paint guy a couple of days. That's how well this machine was preserved.
After 60 years, we put in the following: new plugs, points, distributor cap, thermostat, water pump kit, fuel pump, gas tank, a few water hoses, all hydraulic hoses, oil pan, one idler shaft & bushings, radiator re-core, new battery + ground strap, two new steering bands and some gaskets! That was it! The idler shaft was not even critical - but since we had the tracks off.
A dream find, really :o
Wow, That is insanely lucky :o. Seems like every single part I pulled off of mine had to have work done to it. Mine was mostly dissembled when I got it. Lots of issues to address. I'm sure my labor alone was worth more than the whole machine is worth today. Just glad it's done finally.
Mine's pretty darned good, thanks, but to be honest your's is REALLY a work of art! I hope everyone clicks on your 'OC46 Restore Pics' link to see for themselves! Inspirational!
Thank you Chris. Inspiration, if only it could be packaged and sold by the pound. :D
Hotratz
I was wondering, is your machine still as pretty as the pictures??
I know you said that you were going to work it, but work and paint can not coexist
It's been worked enough to remove all of the paint from the outside surfaces of the tracks and the bottom front edge of the bucket but it's still pretty clean.
Talking of getting the new tractor dirty ;D
Just think how muddy it would be if it wasn't the dry season. ;D
