I have an early OC46 (4 cyl.) that I did a Hotratz alternator conversion on a couple of years ago. The fan belt that was on the machine when I got it was not correct, a narrow width automotive belt that is too long. Today I was contemplating replacing the belt with one that I can tension correctly. I searched my manuals but could not find any information on belt replacement other than tensioning once the belt is in position. Can the hydraulic pump drive be disconnected without removing the pump ( and the heavy grill guard )? Another thing that I noticed is that my crank pulley is a dual groove type, nothing like that in my manual. In Hotratz's conversion thread he shows a single groove pulley with the spline drive cast in. My drive is a bolt on flange which my manual does show. I can remove the grill guard and loosen the pump to get a new belt on, just wondering if it's the only way.

Mike, I think it's the only way unless you cut the belt off and replace it with one of those adjustable linked belts.
