Title: painting oc3 with rustoleam old cat yellow
Post by: jr/w.pa on February 25, 2014, 03:52:05 AM
I will painting my OC3's in the spring . I was wondering how close  Rustoleam old caterpillar yellow was to the original color . I am not painting these for show but rather to fight rust while I use them around the farm . This color of paint is readily available in my area in both spray cans and by the gallon and moderately priced

I used Old Cat. on some of my OC-46. It has more orange to it than New Cat. The tracks on my crawler are Old Cat. The bucket is a 50/50 mix of Old cat and New Cat. And the rest of the crawler is what the previous owner started with, Plasticoat Equipment Yellow. You really don't see the diff. unless you're up close and scrutinizing. If you aren't going to be judged on it I wouldn't worry what color you paint it.
