Title: Most efficient removal of Heil trailblazer from dgh
Post by: 79star on September 02, 2014, 01:32:52 AM
Working on the DGH and was wondering if anyone has removed a complete blade system.  Is there a good way to remove most of it intact.

I have cut the bolts that hold the side frames on and its not too hard. That lets it come off in a whole. I'd be interested in the blade itself depending on where you are. The tractor looks pretty nice!

Did you remove the blade first then the side arms, or did you remove the whole thing as a unit?  I'm in southern Illinois, but not sure of my plan with the blade yet :)

Any idea what the side frames weigh by themselves??

I unbolted the blade from the tractor leaving the sideframe on the trackframe. Then cut it off. I'm guessing but would say 500 to 1000 pounds. I think the whole blade setup weighs about 4 or 5k.

that's kinda what I thought.  I've been sidetracked by other pressing problems.
