Newto the forum here. Currently I have two Cletracs. A HG42 with a Allis Chalmers B125 power pack engine conversion and a 20c that I am doing a complete engine overhaul on (sleeves, new valve seats, new valves, rings, etc). I have experience working on Cat Sixtys (restored one this summer). I also collect just about any old iron I can .

Yes, yes it is. I recognized your OC4 from pictures over on chainsawcollectors.se, I've been looking at an OC4 here locally with a loader, I am just waiting for the owner to get more realistic with his price 8)

Yep, I've been turning wrenches since slightly after I learned to walk. Grew up building high performance snowmobiles and fixing small power equipment and moved on to working as a tractor mechanic. I stopped turning wrenches for a living 12 years ago, but it is still my stress relief. I have restored countless engines and other pieces of equipment over the years, but finally bought a crawler earlier this year after years of wanting one. When I found the HG, no one knew what it was (because of the obvious AC engine) but through the power of google, we figured it out... I've located another HG (minus a motor) and we are debating what it should be repowered with... flathead v8, air cooled v4??? once I have this tractor (the 20c) done and a few other projects wrapped up, we'll think more seriously about it. ::)
I sold a Mercedes diesel to a guy by the name of Anthony, who put it in an HG and then later sold it to someone on here. If you do a search, I'm sure you'll find it. Haven't heard any updates for a while though.
I saw an older model Cat D-4 that someone put a Cadilac V-8 in along with the automatic transmission, ahead of the regular Cat transmission. They had to stretch the central chassis, and thus the blade arms as well, by about 3 feet. Quite a piece of work. I've also seen an OC-3 with an Allis Chalmers radiator on it.
