i just traded my ford 8n for the oc-3,its my first crawler, and i would like to know how to operate the auxiliary transmission, can`t find how on the internet, only that having one is a good thing.
The aux tranny is just another 3 speed transmission ahead of the 3 speed factory Clark unit. It has a standard H shift pattern with 1st on lower left, 2nd on upper right and 3rd on lower right. Reverse is upper left and neutral is in the middle. It's purpose is to essentially reduce the speed of the output shaft ahead of the Clark transmission.
This is just a basic explanation, there are detailed descriptions in the Aux Trans forum including the gear ratios produced by this setup.
Hope this helps, if not just keep asking.
