Title: Help Requested To Bracket My OC-3's Serial Number By Compairing With All of You
Post by: Subgates on January 24, 2017, 08:28:32 PM
Guys.

Since my original engine and bell housing are gone.....

I'm looking to bracket my OC-3's serial number by comparing it to all of yours that have the same Anderson blade. My assumptions are that several OC-3's were pulled off the assembly line serial number order and then (some size of a group) had the Andersons Blade added in somewhat close serial number order.

My Anderson information plate plate is on the frame on the right hand side right under the bottom of the right side removable panel partially covered by the Anderson grill. My information says:
Anderson blade model F3A
Serial OP 6442
Hydreco control valve from Kalamazoo, MI. SER. V21D1C

If you have data please reply?    :)

Oh, yeah. Also include your OC-3's Year if you know it?

Chocked full of nuts.

I may be wrong but I don't think that any OC3 dozer/loaders where built on the Oliver assembly line. Anderson and Ware produced packages that were installed at Oliver dealers so the serial # on the side panel is an Anderson serial # referencing the package that they produced. My 1951 OC3 has an Anderson blade data plate with a model and serial# (don't remember what it is) but the model#  changed periodically as improvements were implemented. Looking at your photo I see that you have the oil tank mounted by the operator as opposed to in front of the radiator which would indicate that it is a later version. My 1951 has the tank between the grill and the radiator.

My 1952 OC3 6WH994 has the same blade setup, with the tank in front of the rad.

Jack
Thanks for the numbers!

We'll see how the numbers fall out. When I saw that Imp dozen brochure here on cletrac.org. I sort of figured Oliver installed them. Mine has a ware grill so you must be right. You're correct my tank is welded onto the R hand fender, my front wheel adjusting bolt has the course threads so it's post 1953 OC-3.
